At The Smashed Pipi Café & Bar we endeavour to offer you the best pizza in the region. Most of our cooked food is prepared in our genuine wood-fired oven.  For example, our meats and fresh vegetables are wood-roasted.  By using a mixture of local hard woods for fuel we are able to achieve a unique but subtle flavour that enhances rather than overwhelms each ingredient's natural taste.

The wood-fired oven is a distinctive feature of the bar and the only one of its type operating in the Mangawhai area.  All Smashed Pipi thin base pizzas are hand-crafted using our own freshly prepared dough, sauces and toppings.  Where possible we use the best available fresh local ingredients.  The bistro menu offers a great selection of appetisers, quick snacks, and hearty winter soups, to meaty ribs, great steaks, fresh mussels, & sea foods, pasta dishes, wood-fired gourmet pizza and "wicked" desserts, plus a good choice of vegetarian.

Our well-stocked bar offers an excellent selection of local and New Zealand wines, most of which can be ordered by the glass - a great way to relax while your meals are prepared for you.  We offer an excellent choice of beers including low alcohol & low carb beer.  On tap we offer Steinlager, Mac’s, lion red, and Speight's, to name but a few.  Premium spirits, cocktails, liqueurs, soft drinks and fruit juices are also served.  Our espresso coffee, from Auckland’s Jungle coffee roaster, has a reputation for being superb.

You will find our friendly staff will be delighted to serve you.  We are currently open for dinner from 5:30pm, seven days a week and our full menu is generally available until 9pm.  We have a target time of ten minutes for the preparation of takeaway meals.  Groups and private functions can be catered for in our restaurant.  Please contact us for more details.  It's always a good idea to book.
